Students at SEHS experienced a full throttle excursion to the Clipsal 500 this week.
Year 11 Science classes used the unique opportunity to investigate issues such as car technology, momentum and ecological impact, while Year 12 Photography students captured the day on their SLR cameras.
Meanwhile, the SEAL class found out about event management and the diverse number of potential careers that are associated with the annual V8 Supercars race through the streets of Adelaide.
Photography teacher Mr Peck said: “This has now become a yearly fixture on the school calendar as it provides so many links to various Stage 1 and 2 curriculums.
“The students had the chance to meet some of the drivers in the paddock, watch the races and gain a first-hand understanding of what a massive operation it is to host such an event.
“It was a great day out and a fantastic way to apply existing knowledge, and develop that further, in a ‘real world’ setting.”
Science teacher Miss Moses organised the excursion and was rewarded for all her hard work when she met Supercars Championship drivers David Reynolds and Chaz Mostert, who are pictured here.
