School uniform update

In keeping with the Salisbury East High School values of pride, respect and responsibility, all students are expected to wear the SEHS uniform.

We believe that wearing the SEHS uniform creates a sense of identity, pride and belonging within our school community and assists us in managing the ongoing well–being and safety of our students. This is strongly supported by our school community and approved by our Governing Council, in accordance to the DECD regulations and guidelines.

Some students are continuing to make the inappropriate choice to wear tracksuit pants to school. It has been clearly stated by staff and in parent communication that tracksuit pants are not an acceptable item of school uniform. We seek parent support in ensuring students have, and wear, the appropriate uniform items.

New uniform items:

In response to feedback from students, parents and families, and in line with the new DECD Sun Smart Policy, we have introduced two new items to the range of school uniform items.

1. SEHS baseball cap – $15

2. SEHS logo sports shorts - $29

Please be aware that if students choose to wear sport shorts they MUST have the school logo and be purchased from Totally Schoolwear. Other tailored, navy blue, dress shorts may be purchased from other suppliers.

Refusal to comply with school expectations/instructions may result in consequences in line with the schools behaviour management policy. Please view the SEHS Uniform Policy on our website (www.sehs.sa.edu.au/uniform) for further information or clarification, or alternatively contact us on 8258 2070.

School image sets the tone for quality learning and we thank you in anticipation of your support and cooperation with this matter.

Yours sincerely

Sue Shepherd
