SEHS Principal moves to pastures new

Principal Jacqui van Ruiten has announced she is leaving Salisbury East High School at the end of 2015.

After four years at the helm, Ms van Ruiten has accepted a generous offer to lead Norwood-Morialta High School in the role as Principal.

"It is with mixed emotions that I inform you I will be leaving Salisbury East High School at the end of this year," she said.

"It was a late offer to lead Norwood-Morialta High School in the role as Principal and a difficult decision to make. However, I believe Salisbury East High School is well-positioned to continue to provide the best possible education for our students.

"Sadly, I have not been able to say farewell to our school community and am hopeful there will be an occasion in the new school year.

"I would also like to take this opportunity to thank and acknowledge the extensive commitment and contributions of the SEHS staff, Governing Council and community members, who have supported new initiatives and improvements to our school over the last four years.

"As a school community we have experienced many changes, such as the beautiful new facility developments and improved physical learning environment; the introduction of the International Student Program; the delivery of new STEM initiatives and courses; the expansion of our local partnerships with business and industry to engage students in a range of pathways, and the improvement of SACE achievement and graduate opportunities.

"Next term Steve Clark, our current Deputy Principal, will be in the Principal position to ensure the continuity of our programs and direction of the school. A selection process for an ongoing appointment will be undertaken at this time.

"I am very confident the school is well placed to continue to build on our current work with Steve's guidance and the ongoing commitment of our Governing Council and school's leadership teams.

"On a final note I wish you all a safe and enjoyable festive season!"

Everyone at SEHS wishes Ms van Ruiten the very best in her new endeavour and our school leaders and Governing Council look forward to your ongoing support and working closely with you in 2016.
