Governing council

At Salisbury East High School, our commitment to excellence is upheld by our governing council, a collaborative body that works closely with our Principal to chart the course for our school’s future.

Meeting regularly on Tuesdays at 6.30pm during weeks 3 and 8 of each term, the council plays a pivotal role in shaping the trajectory of our school.

Responsibilities of the council include:

  1. Set the broad direction and vision of the school.
  2. Developing and approving local policies to ensure adherence to the highest standards of governance and accountability.
  3. Approving and meticulously reviewing our budget to allocate resources effectively and sustainably.
  4. Monitoring and evaluating the implementation of our site improvement plan.
  5. Actively engaging with and consulting the broader school community to ensure that diverse perspectives and voices are represented in decision-making processes.
  6. Ensuring our facilities continuously evolve to meet the needs of our students, by negotiating with Department for Education and State Government.

Through the collaborative efforts of our governing council, we strive to create an environment where every student can thrive and excel.
